9:30 AM Severe Weather Update

The leading edge of the severe line of storms extends from near Hemphill to Newton to Lumberton to League City. The strongest sections of this squall line has been producing damaging wind gusts over 55 to 65 MPH. There have been several reports of downed trees and powerlines in the Houston Metro nad into sections of East Texas. The squall line is booking it east at around 45 MPH. The severe weather threat will end once the squall line moves east of Texas. Luckily, we should only be dealing with the squall line for another hour or two before it completely exits Texas. In the wake of the squall line we’re expecting temperatures to warm up into the 60s and 70s with clearing skies. Overall, this afternoon will be nice in the weather department.
