No precipitation is forecast across Texas through Friday afternoon. Our main weather story will be continuing warm days and cooler nights. Windier conditions arrive on Thursday and Friday, with more active weather Friday night and Saturday.
High temperatures will generally be in the 60s and 70s over the next two days. Upper 50s are probable on Wednesday in the Ark-La-Tex as cooler weather invades the Mid-South, but mostly misses us. A more pronounced warming trend begins on Thursday with high temperatures in the 60s, 70s, and 80s – especially on Friday with gusty winds.
A storm system will take shape Friday afternoon into Friday night, with a surface low pressure moving from Northwest Texas/western Oklahoma northeast toward the Midwestern United States. As that process occurs, scattered thunderstorm chances increase for the eastern third of Texas Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. There may be a risk for strong to perhaps severe storms, but as the last two weeks have shown, those severe storm threats are far from guaranteed. It’s something worth watching.
We may also see a round of light snow in the Panhandle Friday night and Saturday, but only minor snow accumulations (if any) are currently projected. A return to December weather will occur on Saturday and Sunday as a strong cold front moves southeast across Texas.

Why is most of the rain only in East Texas? Is it how the Gulf Stream flows? Central Texas is an inch away from becoming a desert like Odesa
Do you guys see any snow possibility in the future for most of Texas? Or is it too far to even tell
Keep the cold 🥶 🥶 up north of the Red River please. This week has been the coldest I want all winter.
