Your Weekend Outlook – A Nice Warming Trend Ahead!

After the past several days of winter weather issues across much of the state, it’s nice to not have very much to talk about with regard to our weather.  The overall theme this weekend and into the week ahead will be….A GRADUAL WARM-UP!  Yes!  Hard to believe, but by the end of the work week ahead, we’ll be looking at widespread 60s and 70s!  For today and tomorrow, highs will top out in the 40s and 50s which will help to melt any residual ice and snow from last Thursday.  Sunshine will be abundant which will also help to both melt and dry up any snow and ice runoff as well.  Our morning lows will remain quite chilly this weekend with subfreezing lows for areas mainly along and north of the I-10 corridor, so we’ll need to continue to monitor for slick spots from snow/ice runoff that refreezes overnight.  Patchy areas freezing fog could also be an issue where we still have abundant moisture on the ground from ice or snow, so as you head out the next couple of mornings to church or work, be on the lookout for that and drive cautiously.  A weak cold front moves into the state tomorrow, but it will not bring any chance of ice or snow with it.  It will be dry and boring…and that’s OK!
