Warm and dry weather across Texas through the Weekend

Even with a cool front moving across Texas today, temperatures will remain warm to downright toasty over the next five days. We’ll see a minor cool-down on Friday, but pleasant weather will continue. Saturday through early next week will take us back up the temperature roller-coaster with high temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Monday has the potential to be the hottest day so far in 2024 across Texas, with high temperatures in the upper 80s to middle 90s. Several locations may approach record high-temperature territory. Our primary concern will revolve around gusty winds and increasing grass fire danger. Oh, we can’t forget allergies. We’re just doomed in the allergy department.

There is an off-chance of a thunderstorm on Tuesday across the Ark-La-Tex. We’ll continue to monitor the longer-range forecast. Tuesday and Wednesday may feature a relatively significant (geographically) severe weather threat from the Midwest into the Deep South of the United States. Whether or not we in Texas participate in that hoopla is still to be determined, but at this juncture, it appears most of that mischief will remain to our north and east. Dry weather is otherwise expected across Texas over the next seven days.
