Extended Period of Quiet Weather Ahead

Light rain is occuring this morning across the Rio Grande Valley, Deep South Texas, and South Texas in an overrunning scenario. Essentially, we have warmer air starting to move over the cooler air at the surface. This process will continue through the late morning before ceasing this afternoon. A few spots may receive a few hundredths of an inch of rain, but nothing significant is expected. Rain should cease by the afternoon hours.

After this morning’s light rain chances in South Texas we expect a dry week ahead. In fact, at this point, the next chance of rain looks to be next Thursday and Friday. Until that point we’ll see temperatures warm back above average into the 60s, 70s and 80s. The warmest day looks to be on Tuesday and Wednesday. By Thursday and into next weekend our next storm system will enter the picture. This upcoming system may bring a return of rain chances and a cool front. Until then, our weather will be quiet.
