Above-Average Temperatures Have Returned!

The temperature roller coaster so common to Texas in the cool season continues this week. After a very chilly period for the last half of last week temperatures have now swung back around. High temperatures this afternoon will generally be in the upper 60s to middle 70s across Texas. THe northern Texas Panhandle will be a bit cooler with upper 50s while Deep South Texas (McAllen area) will probably get into the lower 80s. It’ll be a windy day as well with strong south winds. Today’s high temperatures will be 30 to 40 degrees warmer than those experienced on Thursday. Light drizzle will remain possible with only very light rain totals possible in East Texas.

A weak cool front will knock high temperatures back down into the 50s for Monday in the eastern Texas Panhandle extending east into North and Northeast Texas. The rest of Texas will remain warm with highs in the 60s and 70s. A stronger cold front starts to push south on Wednesday and Thursday. Highs north of the front will drop back into the 30s and 40s, while those south of the front remain in the 60s and 70s. A few showers will remain possible in eastern sections of Texas with this front by mid-week. No high-impact weather impacts are expected through Thursday.
