Your Weekend Forecast!

Good morning and happy Saturday!  Just a short blog this morning since the weather is going to be pretty tame this weekend.  The warming trend we were talking about earlier this week begins today with very pleasant temperatures and conditions expected statewide!  Skies will be mostly clear and temps will be climbing to just above seasonal norms for this time of the year.  Winds will be on the increase today across the western half of the state which could lead to wildfire concerns this afternoon.  Other than that, no other features to discuss.

Highs Saturday Lows Tonight

Overnight, we’ll really begin to see an influx of gulf moisture streaming up into central, northern and eastern Texas.  Cloud cover will also be on the increase with fog and/or drizzle along the coast and inland by tomorrow morning, with cloudy drizzly conditions also expected by mid-morning on Sunday across central, north central and eastern portions of the state.  Only light drizzle/sprinkles is expected…just enough to wet the pavement and make your hair frizz. Screen Shot 2015-12-19 at 9.19.07 AM

Highs on Sunday will jump to nearly 70 degrees across the western half of the state, and we’ll see mid 70s to nearly 80 across south Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.  For central, north central and northeast Texas, we’ll be a few degrees cooler and in the low to mid 60s with the influence of the clouds and drizzle expected to hang on for most of the day.  Be sure to check back later today and tomorrow for some updates on the mild forecast for Christmas… and some big changes on the way for weekend following Christmas…which is shaping up to maybe be a bit interesting with rain and a strong cold front moving into the state!
