Before we start in on the blog, we have one little housekeeping item to address.  SPRING FORWARD!!!! We get to enjoy a little time travel at 2am when it’s suddenly 3am!  I’m a huge nerd, so I like to stay up and watch the clock on my computer jump forward from 1:58am to 3:00am.

Most of the state enjoyed a gorgeous sunny day, but clouds and damp conditions plagued the coasts of deep south Texas.  Several weakish upper level disturbances will pass over us between now and Monday leading to widespread rain chances beginning tonight and continuing through early Tuesday.  Overnight tonight, rain will continue developing across southwest Texas, gradually spreading east and northeast through tomorrow.  Some of the spotty showers that have already developed contain some lightning, so don’t be surprised to hear a few rumbles of thunder overnight.  The heaviest rainfall over the next couple of days will be confined to south central and southeast Texas where some areas could see upwards of 4 inches of rain fall before Tuesday.  Could see some minor flash flooding issues around and north of the Houston area, but due to the multi-day nature of this rainfall event, significant flooding impacts are not expected.

Lows tonight, chilly once again, but held in check somewhat by thickening cloud cover across the state. Amarillo, you’ll drop down to about 36, Lubbock, 38, Wichita Falls, 42, Dallas 44, Waco 42, Austin 44, San Antonio 47, Houston 48, Corpus Christi 53, Brownsville 55 and El Paso 46.   A bit chillier than we typically see this time of the year, but better than we had earlier this week or the end of last week.  By tomorrow, the panhandle and most of western Texas will be enjoying temps in the mid to upper 60’s.  For northern and eastern Texas, you’ll be seeing highs reaching the low to mid 50’s.   For the central and southern coastal regions, you’ll be seeing highs in the upper 50’s to upper 60’s…higher if we can get some sun to peek in across deep south Texas.
