Outflow Boundary & Storms Racing South This Morning

Showers and thunderstorms are racing south along an outflow boundary this morning from Lubbock to Wichita Falls to Ardmore. These features will continue to quickly move south this morning and will bring rain chances to North Texas, the Big Country, and Permian Basin by sunrise. Severe weather is unlikely, but gusty winds up to 50 MPH are possible as the outflow boundary arrives. Temperatures behind the outflow boundary will fall into the 60s and lower 70s.

The HRRR weather model gradually decreases shower/storm coverage along the outflow boundary later today, but that may be somewhat unrealistic since the airmass south of the boundary is quite moist. Regardless the boundary will likely continue to move south quickly through the morning hours.
