Dry and Mild through Friday – Heating Up This Weekend

The overall weather pattern for the remainder of the work week will be mild and mostly dry with only a few chances for drizzle across parts of central and northeast Texas Thursday and Friday.  Temperatures have increased above normal across the western half of the state, and they’ll stay that way for the remainder of the work week and the weekend ahead thanks to a strong upper level high sitting just to our west. Temperatures across the eastern half of the state will remain at or below normal through Thursday, but will begin to creep back up above normal again by Friday and through the weekend, despite a weak cold front which will arrive late Friday into Saturday and stall out across north Texas.  While we won’t be going into much detail just yet, next week looks to become active with the return of rain and storm chances, so enjoy this calm and peaceful weather pattern while it lasts!

Lows tonight will be chilly, but not quite as cold as we saw this morning, especially across the northern half of the state with many locations under Frost Advisories this morning.  Coldest spots tomorrow morning will be up in the panhandle which will drop down near freezing.  The remainder of the state will see lows ranging from the upper 30s to 40s.  Not bad…and I’m sure many in the north and northeast right now would gladly trade places with us!  The warmest locations tomorrow will be across far west Texas where temps will climb into the mid 80s. The panhandle will see highs ranging from the mid 60s to mid 70s.  South Texas will see highs in the mid to upper 70s.  North and East Texas will see highs in the low 60s and southeast Texas will see highs reach the low 70s.

Rain chances continue to look bleak through the rest of the week.  Chances will return next week, but coverage…at this time…does not look all that widespread.  Thunderstorms may also return to the forecast as well, but it’s still too far out to provide much in the way of details on that just yet.
