Back to the 80s with Record High Temperatures Today

Good morning Texas and welcome to another beautiful day. Seven years ago wasn’t so nice with a severe weather outbreak including an EF-4 tornado striking Lone Grove, Oklahoma. I saw my first tornado on that chase back in 2009 and have been addicted ever since. We will not be dealing with tornadoes today as we won’t have many clouds in the sky at all. This is another easy forecast with sunny skies and light winds mostly out of the south. Temperatures will be well above average today with more records being set this afternoon. We’re going back to the 80s with upper 70s to low 80s in the forecast today. With average high temperatures in the 50s for this time of year it goes without saying today will be hot by February standards.

Temperatures tonight will be above average as well with 40s to lower 50s across most of Texas. We’ll see upper 30s to mid 40s across the Panhandle into West Texas and in Northeast Texas. A cold front will begin pushing into Texas on Wednesday with temperatures returning to their seasonal averages by Thursday if not a bit below so enjoy the warm day because Mother Nature is about to take us back to normal. We’ll see things warm back up by Friday but not as hot as today.
