A couple severe storms possible in Far Southeast Texas this afternoon

A localized severe weather threat may materialize this afternoon along the Upper Texas Coast, Far Southeast Texas, and in the Golden Triangle. The Storm Prediction Center has included a level one and two risks for the aforementioned locations. Widespread severe weather is not expected today. However, we may have a few issues if more unstable air is able to move inland from the Gulf of Mexico. Today’s primary severe weather threats, should we have issues, would be localized damaging wind gusts and a low risk of a tornado.

Rain will move eastward out of the state by tonight. We do note there is a low chance of a few snow flurries in Texoma this evening. No snow accumulations are expected with this evening’s possible flurries.
