Warming Trend into the Weekend

2016-02-26_6-52-37

Cool temperatures this morning will quickly warm as another beautiful day sets up. Temperatures will top out in the upper 50s across Northeast Texas and East Texas. The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) will be the warmest in the state with middle 70s this afternoon. Everyone else will end up in the 60s this afternoon. Clouds will be hard to locate today.

Those southerly winds will help keep temperatures a bit warmer tonight compared to this morning. The cooler spots will be in the 30s tonight while Deep South Texas only gets down into the middle 50s.

Saturday will be five to ten degrees warmer as southerly winds ramp up. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies are expected. Gusty south/southwest winds by the afternoon hours will result in very high to critical fire weather danger across the Panhandle and West Texas.

The storm system we were looking at in the Monday-Tuesday timeframe is looking much less impressive. It may bring some rain to parts of the state but that remains an uncertainty at this point. Most of the system’s energy looks to pass well north of Texas.
