A weak cold front will continue moving into the southern half of the state overnight with cooler and drier air filtering in behind it across north and northeast Texas.  No rain will accompany the front, but out ahead of it, areas of dense fog will be possible after midnight and through the morning hours across south Texas. Dense Fog Advisories have been issued for areas between Victoria, Corpus Christi and Falfurrias from midnight through 10am tomorrow.  Patchy fog and low clouds are also possible tomorrow morning across parts of the panhandle and south plains.  Other than than those two items, conditions will remain quiet across the state tonight.

Lows tonight, seasonal and dropping into the upper 20s across the panhandle, upper 30s across north and west central Texas, 40s across central Texas with 50s down near the coast.  Highs tomorrow will be above normal once again for all but northeast Texas where the western fringes of a strong arctic front will keep temperatures at or slightly below average tomorrow afternoon.  Another cold front arrives on Sunday, but just like the preceding fronts, it will have little impact on daily highs and we’ll remain above average well into next week.

Rain chances return Sunday through Monday with a majority of it falling east of the I-35 corridor.  This will be the only rain we see through the next work week, then it looks like our weather pattern may shift a bit bringing rain into the forecast for the week of the 21st.  Still a ways out on that, but the signals in the long-range models are staying pretty consistent with this chance, so we’re certainly keeping an eye on it.
