12:50pm Severe Weather Update – North Texas

Our squall line of storms with developing bow echo characteristics continues to move east at ~30mph with impacts expected shortly across Palo Pinto, Jack, Erath and Parker counties.  Very damaging straight-line winds in excess of 70mph are likely along with embedded tornadic circulations which could result in brief tornado spin-ups along the leading edge.   Jacksboro, Mineral Wells, Weatherford, Bridgeport and Bowie are all in the path of this dangerous squall line of storms.  Flooding rain and frequent lightning will also be a hazard.  Best to get off the roads and start seeking shelter ASAP!  And yes, this line is headed directly for additional locations just west of the DFW metroplex, so stay tuned for additional updates!
