Tornado outbreak expected in the Mid-South Later Today

We’ve been babysitting #storms overnight as they’ve moved east across Northwest Texas, the Big Country, the Concho Valley, and parts of North Texas. We’ll watch the storms marching off to the east into Northeast Texas and East Texas this morning and through the afternoon hours. Localized damaging wind gusts, some pocket-change size hail, heavy rain, and perhaps a brief tornado are possible with the most intense storms. We’ll need to watch the Piney Woods in Far East Texas this afternoon in case storms get a bit rowdier. A #tornadooutbreak will unfold later today and tonight across #Louisiana, #Mississippi, #Arkansas, #Tennessee, and Alabama. Storm Chasers will be streaming live video later today on the Texas Storm Chasers YouTube channel. As for Texas, storm chances will conclude late this afternoon, leaving us relatively quiet weather through the weekend and early next week. A few showers and storms may pop-up Sunday in Southeast Texas, but widespread severe weather isn’t likely. We’re already watching next Thursday (March 30) for another round of severe #thunderstorms. Welcome to spring!
