Storms (some severe) still expected this Evening in Texoma & North Texas

4 PM Thursday, March 16th Texas Weather Update | So far, we’ve been mostly quiet this afternoon south of the Red River. Subsidence [sinking air] aloft have kept us out of the hailfest eastern Oklahoma ‘enjoyed’ earlier. We still expect isolated to scattered storms to develop between 5PM and 8PM in portions of Texoma and western North Texas. Those storms will move northeast/east, with a line eventually moving southeast late this evening. Large hail, localized damaging wind gusts, and perhaps a tornado all remain threats with the most intense storms. More numerous thunderstorms will develop pre-dawn Friday from the Permian Basin east through the Concho Valley, Hill Country, South Texas, and into the Brazos Valley. Those storms will move northeast through mid-morning Friday. That activity will make localized heavy rain, pocket-change-size hail, and gusty winds possible. ~David #TXwx #weather
