Spectacular weather for Texas to end January…

The final days of January will feature spectacular weather across Texas. The work week is looking bright, with clear skies and above-average temperatures. After the chaotic month we’ve experienced, a week of beautiful weather is much appreciated. Localized fog will be possible in the morning hours. However, we don’t anticipate a repeat of last week’s reenactment of The Mist. Gusty winds don’t look to be a major influencer this week.

Enjoy the calm weather while it lasts, for nothing is forever. We return to a weather pattern beginning on Friday. The subtropical Jetstream will kick in, and the upper-level storm train will begin again. Rain chances will increase on Friday and Friday Night. Saturday will also be a wet day as surface-low pressure organizes. We’ll be able to fine-tune the specifics once we get a couple of days closer.

We won’t have much cold air to work with, so no big ‘winter storm’ aspect seems to be in the cards. We’ll keep an eye on the Panhandle and West Texas in case that changes. We may see a few stronger storms across the eastern third of Texas during the period. A cold front will knock temperatures down toward early February levels this weekend. Until then, we’ll enjoy the beautiful weather!
