Rain has arrived in Texas with more to come

It’s a dreary to downright wet morning across Texas. Widespread rain continues across the Texas Panhandle and West Texas. Isolated to scattered showers are ongoing across the Concho Valley, Hill Country, into South-Central Texas, and the Coastal Bend.

For this morning and afternoon, the highest precipitation coverage will remain across the Panhandle, parts of West Texas, Northwest Texas, and Deep South Texas. Rain will change to wet snow by dinner-time west of a Hereford-Amarillo-Perryton line. Snow accumulations up to three inches are possible, with those highest amounts west of a Dalhart to Guymon line. Roads may become snow-packed and slick, especially after sunset.

Widespread rain will move east across West Texas, Northwest Texas, and south into the Big Country (Abilene area) tonight and Friday morning. Expect rain after sunrise and increase toward lunchtime across Texoma, North Texas, and Central Texas. We’ll see the mass of rainfall moves east into the Brazos Valley (Bryan/College Station), Northeast Texas, East Texas, and Southeast Texas during Friday afternoon and evening hours.

The western half of Texas should be mostly dry by sunset Friday. Rains will continue Friday night across the eastern third of Texas before that same dry weather arrives from the west Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon through at least Monday should be dry across Texas.

By Friday morning, we’ll see an additional one to three inches of rainfall across the Texas Panhandle, West Texas, Northwest Texas, and the Big Country. The remainder of the eastern two-thirds of Texas can generally expect anywhere from one-tenth to two inches of rain through Friday night before rain exits Texas to the east Saturday morning.

Widespread flooding and severe storms are unlikely.

Temperature trends through the Weekend

It’ll be on the cool side with high temperatures in the 30s, 40s, and 50s today and tomorrow in the northwestern half of Texas. 60s and 70s for the southeastern half of Texas; both days will make our northern neighbors jealous. 40s, 50s, and 60s for highs statewide on Saturday before most of Texas is back into the 50s, 60s, and 70s on Sunday and Monday.

Texas must stop the Weather Modification & cloud seeding planes & drones so our weather can return to normal.

  15. Drew Justin

People, who choose to live in a hot/arid region, complaining about no rain. Makes sense.
