Happy Earth Day 2022. Trey discusses the severe weather threat today in western Texas. The threat for damaging wind gusts exists in the Panhandle simply from gradient winds. Developing storms will also contribute a damaging wind threat and large hail risk as well. The risk stretches across the whole state from Sanderson northward to Perryton and the OK border. Tornado risk is low for these areas. Any intense supercells that can stay discrete could form a tornado or two, especially farther north.
