The sun will come out tomorrow… and for a beautiful weekend ahead

Simulated weather model radar through Thursday morning

Widespread rain continues to fall across the eastern half of Texas this afternoon. Meaningful rains have come to an end west of an Abilene to Brownwood to Kerrville to Pearsall. Lagging moisture has allowed scattered showers to continue across the Texas Panhandle southeast off the caprock into Northwest Texas. All of this activity will continue to move from west to east through the evening.

We anticipate most rains will end by the morning commute across Texas. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if fog or even a few light showers made it a dreary morning across parts of the state. However, conditions should improve by the afternoon hours tomorrow. Rain chances will continue across far South Texas tomorrow, but those will come to an end on Friday.

A well-deserved break from dreary weather and rain will provide several days of relief beginning Friday. A beautiful weekend is forecast across all of Texas with mostly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures. You read that right! A weekend without flooding rains or dreary low-level clouds. The sun really will come out beginning tomorrow.

Our next weather maker looks like it may arrive in about a week to nine days. Of course, trying to get specific in that time-frame is nearly impossible, but at least we can look forward to several days to a week of mostly dry weather. That’ll allow very saturated soils some time to dry and hopefully give flood control districts some breathing room.
