Jason Cooley and Chelsea Burnett took advantage of the weekend to head into West Texas yesterday. While not a typical storm chase with a supercelluar storm mode, they were able to document a photogenic thunderstorm producing copious amounts of lightning and strong outflow winds. Combined with the ongoing drought those winds kicked up a lot of dust. Those lightning strikes did start several grass fires, but most were contained without causing too many problems.
