Today is not expected to feature widespread thunderstorm development. However the environment is supportive of severe weather should we get a few storms to fire up in the Hill Country or western parts of North and Central Texas. We do have one storm that has fired up southwest of Lampasas over the past 20 minutes. Any storms that fire up will be capable of becoming severe as they move east. Large hail, damaging winds, and a tornado will be possible with the strongest storms. While the number of storms will be limited by a strong cap those that do form will likely be severe.

A severe thunderstorm watch is possible should it become apparent thunderstorms are close to developing.
