Clear Skies Through Saturday with Warm Weather

2016-02-25_5-41-29

A couple nice days are in store before our next storm system arrives early next week. High temperatures today will be a bit cooler across the Texas Panhandle, West Texas, and Northwest Texas thanks to a weak cool front. Temperatures across the southern half of Texas will be warmer with highs peaking in the upper 60s to the middle 70s. Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley will top out close to 80 degrees this afternoon. Winds north of that weak cool front will be northerly. South of the front light south winds are expected.

Lows tonight will be seasonably cold with middle to upper 20s across the Texas Panhandle and the South Plains. Upper 20s to lower 30s are expected in Northwest Texas, the Big Country, Concho Valley, Permian Basin, and Northeast Texas. Lower to upper 30s will be common across North Texas, Central Texas, East Texas, and the Hill Country. Folks right along the coast into Deep South Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley will drop into the middle 40s by Friday morning. Skies will be mostly clear across the state.

South winds will become more noticeable on Friday as warmer air spreads back north. Northeast Texas will be coolest with highs in the upper 50s Friday afternoon. The remainder of the state will top out in the 60s to low 70s. The Rio Grande Valley will once again be in the upper 70s. Sunny skies are expected state-wide with a nice day shaping up. Some showers may occur Sunday Night into Monday across the eastern half of Texas. A more powerful system looks to move in Monday Night through Tuesday Night. A variety of weather hazards may present themselves.
