Severe storms possible in East Texas; Ark-La-Tex Tomorrow Morning

Texas Storm Chasers Baldy-in-Chief has a quick evening update on the potential for scattered severe storms after sunrise on Monday through the early afternoon hours. While we will have storms underway late tonight into Monday morning across Texoma, North Texas, and East Texas – those should mostly behave themselves. Small hail and gusty winds will be possible. Storms will move east/northeast.

As we get past 9-10AM, some storms may tap into increased instability values across the Ark-La-Tex and East Texas. As that occurs, some storms may become severe with hail larger than the size of quarters and localized damaging wind gusts.

The tornado threat will increase as storms move closer to Louisiana, but exactly when that threat becomes problematic is to be determined. At least a low tornado threat may exist across the Ark-La-Tex, East Texas, and the Golden Triangle from 10 AM through 4 PM Monday. Storms will move east of Texas by mid-afternoon, ending our severe weather threat. Significant severe storms, including tornadoes, are possible in Louisiana and Mississippi Monday afternoon into Monday evening.
