4 AM Update: Isolated severe threat continues as broken squall line moves east toward D/FW

A broken line of showers and thunderstorms extends from Gainesville to Decatur to Morgan Hill to De Leon and Early. The line is moving east while individual storms are racing northeast. The most intense storm near Gainesville is capable of producing quarter size hail and localized damaging wind gusts. A second strong storm near Desdemona will pass north of Morgan Mill soon with small hail. The squall line will move east across the D/FW Metroplex between 4:30 AM and 7 AM. Once the line moves through your location, the threat for storms will be over and you’ll notice temperatures dropping. We’ll keep an eye out for any storms that can intensify over the next few hours, but most folks will not be impacted by a severe storm – only a quick round of rain.
