Very heavy rainfall overnight across counties just north of downtown Houston have dropped over 16 inches of rain which has currently left 100s of homes across the area flooded in and around Horsepen creek, Langham Creek, Cypress Creek, Little Cypress Creek, Willow Creek, Greens Bayou, White Oak Bayou (Jersey Village). Harris County officials area reporting 60+ high water rescues in the area. Roads across these counties just north/northwest of Houston will likely be closed. The extremely heavy rainfall that brought these emergency flood conditions overnight is moving slowly off to the south which may impact additional areas of downtown Houston this morning. Residents in the area need to turn to local media for the latest on the roadway flooding and potential impacts to roadways and possibly school and business closings today.
