Flash flooding overnight across the eastern half of the state remains a concern with heavy rain expected to continue tonight and into the overnight hours.  We’ve already seen widespread precipitation in excess of 1.5 inches so far, with some pockets of 2 to 3 inch totals just since noon…and another 1 to 3 inches is on the way overnight.  Altogether, this region of the state is expected to see 3-5 inches before the rain begins to move out tomorrow.  Flash Flood Watches and remain in effect through Sunday morning.  Flash Flood Warnings (red) are in effect for Red River, Northwestern Titus, Wood, Franklin, and northwestern Smith in northeast Texas, plus Anderson, Henderson, eastern Freestone and Leon County in central Texas until midnight.  Be extra cautious if you have to be out and about tonight as flooded roadways and crossings will be just that much more difficult to see.  Do not drive past high water barricades.
