The flash flood event has begun in North Texas. Over the past 20 minutes flash flood warnings have been issued for the following counties: Tarrant, Dallas, Johnson, Bosque, Hill, Navarro, and McLennan. These warnings are in effect through the early afternoon but will be extended as necessary. Rainfall intensity has increased and with soils becoming saturated the flooding threat is rising. Urban locations will be the first to experience flooding. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible. Avoid flooded roadways! Most activity is moving east/northeast but will drop a quick inch or two of rain. Additional activity is anticipated throughout the day and into tonight.
