Strong Tornado northwest of Canadian, Texas | May 27, 2015

This full video shows the complete lifecycle of a tornado from development to occlusion and dissipation. This large tornado lasted about 10 minutes and was nearly stationary its entire life. Sadly there were tree injuries from an oil field that was impacted. At the time it looked like the tornado was over open farmland hence the excited reactions from other storm chasers (the road was packed). The National Weather Service in Amarillo has rated the tornado a high-end EF-2 based on the damage it produced.

The yelling/screaming you hear are from other storm chasers also parked on Highway 60. You’ll hear me roll the window up as they get going.
