As Hurricane Epsilon races northeast in the Atlantic, a new tropical depression has formed close to where Delta formed a few weeks ago. It is forecast to become a Tropical Storm on Sunday and perhaps a low-end Hurricane on Tuesday. This is the 6th storm of the Greek Alphabet naming system, and the 28th Atlantic storm of this record-breaking season. This will tie the quantity of named Atlantic storms in 2005. The northern Gulf waters are cooler than normal now, so a landfall in SE Louisiana / S. MS should be as a Tropical Storm with Zeta weakening into Wednesday. We will keep you updated. -JC
