Texas Weather & Severe Storm Update [June 5 1:30AM]

A line of storms is moving south into Texoma, North Texas, and Northeast Texas early this morning. For the most part, storms are behaving. The stronger storms can produce localized wind gusts of 45 to 60 MPH. Given very wet soil conditions, those winds may be enough to uproot trees.

Most storms are expected to bring heavy rain, small hail, and frequent lightning. Flooding will be the most widespread, common hazard this morning. A few storms may become severe, with localized damaging wind gusts over 60 MPH and pocket-change-size hail. The tornado risk is very low.

Storms will continue moving south/southeast at 25 to 40 MPH into the remainder of North Texas and East Texas through sunrise. We may see storms enter Southeast Texas and approach the Upper Texas Gulf Coast several hours after sunrise.
