TODAY’S LESSON: THE HAIL ALWAYS WINS
Date: April 8, 2011
- Chaser: David Reimer
- Location: southeast of Perry, OK
I’d been tracking a supercell for over an hour prior to this video. The storm exhibited strong low-level rotation at times. As it approached and passed over Interstate 35 it decided to really ramp up in the hail department. I thought I had time to beat the hail core while traveling south on Highway 86 from Perry (a north/south highway a few miles east of I-35). Turns out the storm had different plans…
The map will display the approximate location of this chase (town). It should not be used for specific location information.
