THE RHEA FIRE
Date: 17 April 2018
- Chasers: Paige Burress, Jason Cooley, David Reimer
- Location: Highway 270 near the Highway 51 junction south of Seiling, OK
DAY SIX of the Rhea Fire in NW Oklahoma on the most extreme day for wildfire potential in many years. Conditions almost couldn’t possibly be any worse. Containment levels dropped from 3% to 0% throughout the day. Multiple raging fireballs exploded from ignited cedar trees, tanker batteries, and even a silo. A couple structures we came across were also burning and falling apart. These clips were all filmed near US-270 & 281 about 7-12 miles southeast of Seiling, OK between 3pm and 12am.
