A marginal risk chase for storm photography evolved into one of the most prolific tornado events in recent West Texas memory…

Date: 14 April 2017

  • Chasers: Paige Burress, David Reimer
  • Location: Near Dimmitt, Texas
  • Chase Mileage: 423 miles

Texas Storm Chasers’s David Reimer and Paige Burress headed out to West Texas to document large hail (which they did very efficiently in the first clip of this video). What was not expected ended up being at least seven tornadoes from a nearly stationary supercell near Dimmitt, Texas. Some of these tornadoes occurred simultaneously and at close-range. Enjoy our video and please remember that we’ve been doing this a long while. Raw emotion is to be expected.

The map will display the approximate location of this chase (town). It should not be used for specific location information.
