A late season winter weather event will bring a short return of winter across the Texas Panhandle on Saturday. Rain will mix with or change-over to wet snow at various points on Saturday. This process may occur several times with rain, snow, rain, snow, rain throughout the day. That means we may not actually see too much in the way of accumulations. However, heavier bursts of wet snow could result in a quick inch or two of accumulation. Warm ground temperatures should keep accumulations short-lived. Heavier accumulations are not out of the question, but we’d need to see longer bursts of snow. There may be some short-fuse travel issues in areas that see heavier bursts of wet snow. We’ll see the snow come to an end tomorrow evening as precipitation moves to the east.
