August 26 12:15 AM Major Hurricane Harvey Update

The center of Major Hurricane Harvey is located 5 miles north of Rockport, Texas – who are about to get back into the eyewall after two hours in the eye’s calm. Harvey is moving northwest at about 7 MPH. Based on the storm’s current track the eastern eyewall is likely to pass just west of Victoria with a direct hit on Refugio and potentially Goliad. Hurricane force winds will accompany the eyewall and likely impact Victoria, Goliad, and potentially even Beeville over the next several hours. Devastating major hurricane force winds over 115 MPH will likely impact Refugio by 1 AM. Life-threatening storm surge will continue along the Middle Texas and Southeast Texas Coast this morning as southeasterly winds continue to race off the Gulf. Harvey will slowly weaken as it slowly moves northwest over the next several hours, but it is likely to remain a hurricane through Saturday afternoon.
