Tranquil Weather Continues – Rain Chances Return Early Next Week

High pressure will continue to dominate the forecast over the next several days.  Our current upper level pattern will have the plains states stuck in between two low pressure systems…one to the east and another to the west for the next couple of days.  It looks like it will be Sunday before that pattern breaks a bit as the western low approaches the TX/NM border with chances for rain and storms returning.  Enjoy it while it lasts!  We’ll be warming up over the next couple of days as well.  Nothing too extreme, but folks that enjoy warmer weather will certainly enjoy.  Lows tonight will still be a bit more chilly than we usually see in early May.  We’ll see temps drop into the low 40s across the panhandle, low 50s across north and central Texas, with much milder lows in the upper 50s to low 60s along the coast.  Highs tomorrow will be pleasant reaching the 80s across the state.  We’ll also see plenty of sunshine, low humidity and winds which will be fairly calm.

As mentioned above, rain chances will return to the forecast early next week. Still too much uncertainty in the long-range forecast to determine severe weather threats, but it does appear that the dryline may become active across the panhandle and far west Texas for at least a couple of days.  We’ll keep an eye on the trends and bring you the latest as we get further into the weekend.
