Tornado Warning: Van Zandt County till 530PM

Tornado warning for southwestern Van Zandt county in North Texas until 530PM. Strong rotation capable of producing a tornado is near Purtis Creek State Park, or 10 miles south of Canton. This storm is moving north at 25 MPH. Conditions in the vicinity of this storm have become more conducive for tornadogenesis, and those in Canton should be moving to shelter immediately.

* At 446 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Purtis Creek State Park, or 10 miles south of
Canton, moving north at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Tornado and half dollar size hail.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
