A Flash Flood Warning is now in effect for Stephens and northern Palo Pinto Counties in North Texas through 8:30 AM. Heavy thunderstorms are moving through the area. These storms are producing up to 2.5 inches of rain per hour. Combined with the 2-6 inches of rain yesterday a rapid onset of flash flooding is expected. Small creeks and streams will likely rise quickly and low-water crossings may become impassable. Breckenridge, Graford, Necessity, Gunsight, Crystal Falls, and Possum Kingdom State Park & Lake are included in this warning.
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Flash Flood Warning for: Stephens County in north central Texas. Northern Palo Pinto county in north central Texas.
- Until 8:30 AM CDT.
- At 5:28 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing Heavy Rain across the warned area. This rainfall will lead to excessive water runoff and cause flash flooding. Low-lying areas are most vulnerable to rapidly rising water. Some Low-water crossings may flood and may become impassable.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include: Breckenridge, Graford, Necessity, Gunsight, Crystal Falls and Possum Kingdom State Park.
