The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a disorganized area of thunderstorms in the Caribbean Sea. This area of thunderstorms will organize tonight and develop into an area of low pressure. The eventual area of low pressure will move over the yucatan Peninsula tonight and move into the southern Gulf of Mexico on Sunday. This system is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone as it moves into the central and eastern Gulf of Mexico early next week. This system will move northeast this upcoming week towards Florida. It’s unlikely this system becomes an issue for Texas – but I encourage our Florida neighbors to keep a close eye on this system as it develops over the coming days. Should Invest 93 become a Tropical Storm it will be named Colin.
