A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the southern Texas Panhandle, South Plains, Rolling Plains, West-Central Texas, and portions of Northwest Texas until 10 PM CT. AMarillo, Lubbock, Snyder, Childress, Vernon, and Seymour are all included. The strongest storms may produce very large hail up to the size of tennis-balls and localized damaging wind gusts over 60 MPH. A tornado is possible across Northwest Texas after 6 PM through about 10 PM – though the threat is low. We’re sitting in Altus, OK and Vernon, TX waiting on storms to fire up.
