A large severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for areas east and south of a squall line. This watch includes all of Northeast Texas, East Texas, the Brazos Valley, Central Texas, and the Hill Country. Texarkana, Tyler, Lufkin, College Station, Austin, Kerrville, and Junction are included in this watch. The strongest storms in the squall line could produce wind gusts up to 70 MPH and brief tornadoes. The hail threat has been low in North Texas but I can’t rule out some hail tonight.
