A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Northeast Texas and portions of East Texas until 8 PM this evening. A few cities in this watch are Clarksville, Texarkana, Mount Pleasant, Tyler, Longview, Marshall, Jacksonville, Henderson, and Carthage. In all likelihood we’ll see the watch cancelled prior to the 8 PM expiration time since storms should be east of the state by dinner. Isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing hail up to the size of golfballs and localized damaging wind gusts over 60 MPH will be possible through the early evening hours.
