Strong storms moving into western D/FW

2016-03-30_16-40-04

A complex – or if you prefer a small line – of storms is now moving into western Tarrant county. A separate storm is in wise county but that one is quickly weakening. The cluster of storms extends from near Azle to Aledo and is moving east around 30 MPH. These storms may could contain wind gusts up to 60 MPH and dime size hail. It is not out of the question that they re-intensify and become severe with damaging winds or large hail. The leading edge of the storms should make it into Downtown Fort Worth between 5 and 5:15 PM. The line of storms now extends southwest to Granbury, Stephenville, and Comanche. Some stronger cores in that line may produce quarter size hail and 60 MPH winds. That line is actually moving east/northeast towards Hood and Somervell counties. Isolated storms are forming further west from Electra south to Seymour, Throckmorton, to Fort Griffin. Those storms are not severe and are in an enviornment not as supportive of severe storms. Still I can’t rule out some hail with them over the next few hours.
