Good morning Texas! After a cold week it’s really going to warm up today. South to southwest winds will become gusty this afternoon. High temperatures in western Texas will soar into the 70s. Restive humidity values will plummet into the teens. Combined with dormant winter fuels were looking at critical fire weather danger today. The areas of highest fire danger include the western Texas Panhandle, the South Plains, and the Permian Basin. Please limit outdoor burning today since today does feature our most significant fire weather danger so far this winter.
This afternoon will feature excellent weather across Texas. The coolest weather will be across Far Northeast Texas with high temperatures in the upper 50s. The remainder of Texas will enjoy high temps in the 60s and 70s with south/southwest winds. Skies will be clear to mostly clear.
