Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Southwest Texas

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until midnight CT for Southwest Texas and portions of the Permian Basin. As an upper level low continues to slowly approach from the west winds aloft will become more favorable for organized thunderstorms. Limited instablity values will keep the severe weather threat from getting too much out of hand. A few severe storms are possible into the overnight hours. Those severe storms may produce hail up to the size of golfballs and locally damaging wind gusts over 65 MPH. A tornado is not out of the realm of possibility. Localized flooding is also a concern.
