Due to the ongoing wildfire event in Bastrop County along with numerous other fires we’re putting together this short blog. Below are graphics depicting wind speed and direction, minimum relative humidity values, and forecast high temperatures tomorrow afternoon. Forecast conditions for the Hidden Pines Fire will be conducive for additional growth on Thursday. Relative humidity dropped below 20 percent near the fire today but wind speeds were relatively light under 10 MPH. On Thursday we can expect south winds to be a bit strong with 10 to 15 MPH. Humidity values will drop below 25 percent by the afternoon hours as high temperatures climb into the 90s. Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected across North Texas, Central Texas, the Brazos Valley, Northeast Texas, and East Texas during the day on Thursday.
