Cool Front Making Headway South Today

While many eyes remain on the rain forecast for Friday through Halloween this blog will be focused on today’s weather. A cold front overnight brought wind gusts over 50 MPH to parts of the Texas Panhandle. I guess that’s one way to usher in cooler temperatures. Today will be much cooler across the Texas Panhandle where high temperatures will stay in the low to mid 60s. Folks across the Big Country through North Texas into Northeast Texas will have high temperatures in the upper 70s. Folks along and south of Interstate 10 are in for an annoyingly hot day. Temperatures will make it into the upper 80s to low 90s. Yup – that includes y’all in San Antonio, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Victoria, Houston, and Beaumont. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but at least cooler temperatures will arrive with the rain chances on Friday. Skies will be sunny with winds north of the cool front becoming a tad gusty out of the north.

Upper 30s to low 40s are expected across the Texas Panhandle. 40s to low 50s across Northwest Texas, the Big Country, Concho Valley, Hill Country, North Texas, Central Texas, and Northeast Texas. 50s to low 60s are expected across South-Central Texas, Southeast Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley. Overall a quiet weather day. One of the last of those before things get active once again.
