June 2 Texas Weather Roundup | Summertime…

Our quiet weather in Texas continues today as an upper level ridge continues to dominate parts of Mexico into Southwest Texas. A trough ejecting out over Tennessee into the Mid-Atlantic will make for another wet and stormy day in the Northeast US. Meanwhile the jetstream is sitting over Montana, Wyoming, into the Dakotas with the northern plains severe weather season underway.

With the ridge in place we’re going to experience typical summer weather in Texas. Luckily all the rain over the past month is saving us from experiencing upper 90s. Regardless today will feature one of the warmer days we’ve seen this year. Most days this week will end up gradually getting warmer as we start to evaporate some of the surface moisture. Winds will be out of the south/southeast today as a storm system takes shape in the Northern Plains.
